Most of you might know by now, but last week Bakwoods had a fire at our office. Everyone got out okay including the dogs. There was minimal damage to equipment and clothing. It could have been alot worse and for that we are thankful. For the mean time we are setting up shop elsewhere and are keeping options open as to where we go from here. We want to thank everyone that has given us a hand and the fire department for stopping the fire two minutes before our office went up in flames.

So at this point we can finally agree the winter is over. We have a ton of footage to look over but in the mean time we have a handful of edits that have been put up and still have more to come. Check out the latest edit with Snow Grind’s new feature at Hunter Mountain. We took a Sunday to break it in.

The New Bakwoods Snowboard Movie "This is..." will premiere this Wednesday at McGillicuddys at 10pm in New Paltz. If you can't make it the second premiere will be on Saturday the 13th at Bacchus in New Paltz at 10pm. Music will follow the movie by The Mala Boys... aka Todd Brian and Jed. Don't miss it!!!

6.20.08--Bakwoods Switches To Organic Cotton T-Shirts!

With a name like "Bakwoods" and considering the fact that our focus is on the skateboarding and snowboarding... which relies heavily on our natural surroundings... we decided to switch our men's and women's t-shirts to 100% Organic Cotton. We have also switched to environmentally friendly /biodegradable cleaning chemicals in our screen printing shop. These are just the first steps we are taking to become a more environmentally conscious company.

We are also now including FREE SHIPPING on everything in our online store... So...Check out the new items that are up there. We also have new designs in the works coming from some of our artist / design friends.... so stay tuned... more is on the way.

The 15 th annual Spring Loaded was this past weekend up at Killington. Johnny O'Connor took 1st in the rail jam for his division and 2nd in the slope style. Aside from the contest it was fun spring conditions in the park and also some fun late season tree runs with the Spacecraft guys.

A Piece of The Struggle is in the videos page in case any of you missed it! We originally placed in the top 10 for Proven In the North East Video Contest and attended a premiere of the videos in NH. Bakwoods ended up winning the online contest! Thanks for all the support voters! Updated rider pages will be posted soon. The snow season is winding down and we are busy capturing as much footage as possible. In the meantime we have updated the myspace page. Add us to your friends!

So... Aside from running around filming and riding as much as possible this season... We've also been working on new clothing designs and updating the rest of the website... 1.21.08 Tim Kempson wins B.B.Trans Am

We've been doing a lot of running around lately… This weekend we went down to the Trans Am at Big Boulder PA with Timmy, Zach, Callaghan, and Johnny O'. It was definitely an awesome set up… way above standard. All 4 Bakwoods guys made it into the finals… and Timmy Kempson ended up winning the whole shebang. Johnny O'Connor also got the “Fancy Pants” award for his Janet Jackson antics.

After the Trans Am… we went straight up to the T-Ville rail jam… Which basically consisted of some good ‘ol fashion SUV jibbing. Callaghan ended up breaking one of the side windows for the win and new deck. Pictures and Videos will be up soon…

10.20.07 BAKWOODS IS GOING TO THE FINALS!

We submitted "A Piece of The Struggle" to the Proven In The Northeast surf/skate/snow Film Festival & Contest, and just found out that it made the top ten! So... we're going up to New Hampshire on Nov. 4th for the final event where they'll be selecting the winner.

Sorry it's been a while on the updates... but we've been super busy editing the new movie "The Struggle" which is planned to release in early December. We've also been working on a new website and new clothing designs for 2008.

Well, well, well. The day has finally come. OUR ONLINE STORE IS UP AND RUNNING. CHECK IT OUT! It took awhile but it's here. We are going to be adding our girl line shortly, hopefully in two weeks. Other than that we have been busy getting any and all footage we can while tere is still a glimpse of snow. Tomorrow we are going to Big Boulder in PA where we will have the mountain to ourselves. That's right, video shoot. Anyway, back to silk screening. -mj

Whats up all. Been real busy these last couple of weeks. Trying to ride and get all the footage we can. Checked out the PA seen at Big Boulder (real nice place but a rainy day all and all), and caught some of the 42N Latitude Hunter Comp (footage coming soon). Besides that just working out the last couple of kinks in our online store which will be ready to go in about a week (no, really this time). Going to the US Open this weekend up at Stratton and taking it from there. Oh yeah congrats to John O'Connor for placing second in the 42N rail jam comp. to top it all off… we now have no snow.-mj

It's been a while since our last update and things are on the up and up. we are so close to having the online store up and running that mango is doing bakflips in his long johns. we got around 7 inches of snow today in new paltz. not much but when you got nothing…had a day for ourselves and finally got to hit the rail @ cory's house. big ups to john o'connor. he placed 1 st at the jeep comp @ windham mtn last saturday.

i can't remember a winter ever beginning like this… hopefully mother nature is just teasing us here in the northeast for the moment. only to blanket us with feet of fresh pow pow in the months to come. *pray for snow* even as terrible as it has been, we are still getting out and filming comps and fresh rippers. keep your fingers crossed for colder weather and keep checking the website for new stuff. -t

Happy Holidays to everyone. Currently we are in the mists of a winter without any snow. We've been riding a couple of times despite the weather or lack there of. We got a bunch of footage from last year still sitting around so we figured we would throw some of it on the site. I mean as long as were waiting for snow we might as well do something. Some new photos to check out from the 209 skate park in Accord. There's also some old short videos from 2 winters ago of some friends up at Stratton and Greek Peak and an old Chris Bartkowski section… all from the extras of Horseshoes & HandGrenades. We're also gona put up some of the other extras soon. We're stocking up the stores with Hoodies for the winter and you can grab them at Likwid in New Paltz, Bartertown in Poughkeepsie and TSX in Kingston .
